Converting steel to wood midstream without missing a beat
The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Broomall, PA is a four-story hotel project that required major design adaptation when the structure shifted from steel to wood framing during development. Quality Buildings to delivered a turnkey framing package and convert prototype light-gauge steel plans into a fully buildable wood-framed solution. Through QB’s detailed preconstruction process, the team identified and corrected critical layout issues, coordinated plumbing and shaft wall locations, and engineered floor systems to avoid conflicts in 94 of 110 guest rooms. Despite the midstream changes, QB completed the project two weeks ahead of schedule, helping bring much-needed lodging capacity to Delaware County.
