The Heartis Senior Living Community in Bucks County, PA was a 90,000 sq. ft. project that included a four-story, 72-unit wood-framed independent living building, an assisted living building, and a memory care unit. Construction launched at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Quality Buildings served as the turnkey framing partner manufacturing and delivering prefab wall panels and trusses from their in-house facility. As a designated healthcare project, construction was permitted to continue through the pandemic with rigorous safety protocols and daily meetings to manage worker separation on a busy site. Quality Buildings maximized the efficiency of their panelized process to reduce the number of workers needed on-site. Their strategic positioning of a Tower Crane—planned during preconstruction to reach 90% of the building from a single location—minimized crane moves and absorbed additional cost through labor savings. The color-coded panel delivery system ensured staged, just-in-time delivery.
