One machine doing the work of three

The West Lawn development at Pleasant View Senior Living Community consists of two 3-story buildings, each with 18 hybrid apartments, and a rooftop deck. With both buildings under simultaneous construction and limited site space, Quality Buildings deployed a Magni Lift—a single piece of equipment that functions as three—to set wall panels and roof trusses efficiently. The Magni Lift was specifically chosen for its ability to handle the height and weight of the wall panels while reducing both back strain injury risk and crew requirements. With the Magni Lift, the number of workers needed to set walls was reduced from five to three—with one of those being the remote-controlled lift operator. Structural shearwall rods required precise alignment into concrete walls, which Quality Buildings managed by annotating exact rod locations on their wall panel shop drawings, avoiding guesswork and keeping the project moving.
